Skill Level: Basic

Time: 10 minutes

Theme: Ground balls

Description

  • Set your team up in 3-5 lines, each about 3-4 players deep.
  • On the whistle, the first player in each line will roll the ball out about five yards.
  • On the second whistle, they’ll run out and freeze over top of the ball.
  • On the third whistle, they’ll scoop, drive through and run to the end of the line.
  • You can go all the way down the field with your players rolling it out five yards ahead, or set up cones 10-15 yards apart and go back and forth.
  • Vary the drill by practicing along a sideline to practice scooping the ball in a tight spot.
